Cloud Engineer in Alexandria

Blackstone Talent Group, an award-winning technology consulting and talent agency is seeking a Cloud Engineer to join our team at our client’s site in Alexandria, VA. Work with emerging and innovative technologies to develop solutions supporting innovation efforts around data analysis, process improvement, artificial intelligence, machine learning and other software and systems that support the Foundation’s mission. Design and develop automated deployment and patching systems across multiple baselines (machine images and containers) that support an AWS based innovation lab for a broad spectrum of users and initiatives. Develop proof-of-concept software using knowledge in Javascript (Angular, Ember.js, Node.js) leveraging multiple APIs. Support lab users by establishing environments, support configuration changes and updates. Work closely with users by providing technical expertise and knowledge Proactively communicate and coordinate with multiple project teamsRequired Qualifications:·8+ years of relevant IT experience and a bachelor’s degree (12+ years of relevant IT experience required without a bachelor’s degree)·5+ years’ experience with scripting using the AWS SDK (Python, Bash)·3+ years’ experience with Cloud technologies (AWS) such as S3, Lambda, Step Functions, Sagemaker, SQS, RDS·3+ years’ experience with Linux (RedHat/CentOS, Amazon Linux)·3+ years’ experience with COTS software packages and support·2+ years’ experience with software development in Javascript (Node.js, Angular, Ember.js)·1+ years’ experience with Containerization (Docker) and Container orchestration and security technologies (i.e., Kubernetes, Twistlock)·Strong written and verbal communication skills·Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask·Willing to learn, collaborate, contribute, and improvePreferred Skills:·Systems development experience for federal clients·Familiarity with innovation project and product analysis·Hands-on experience in developing proof of concepts and prototypes ·Experience leading and managing junior engineers·Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt)Blackstone Talent Group is a division of Blackstone Technology Group, a global IT services and solutions firm that implements technological solutions across commercial industry verticals and the US Federal Government.
