Role and Responsibilities Coordinates engineering departments within Industrial, Environment and Water sectors (Structures & Civils, Process & Piping, Electrical & Mechanical, GIS) and Architectural activities.Maintains the desired levels of technical skills, capabilities and training in the disciplines in line with the project requirements and market trends.Ensures the efficiency of interdisciplinary collaboration within projects.Ensure that the resources allocated to the projects and secondment correspond to the requirements in terms of competence and experience.Responsible for maintaining design reviews are quality and intervenes when customers or team leaders need support.Supports the commitment to business goals and leads the team of department heads.Sizing the resources pool in line with the demand and growth business planDevelops new engineering capabilities to serve the market opportunities and budgeted growth. Detailed job descriptions: Leads the functional areas of the architecture and engineering departments needing minimal supervision; provides training, mentoring and coaching to improve skills and increase the performance of architecture and engineering team leaders.Supports the involvement of Discipline Leaders, helping with the planning and organization of the design plan, so that the GDS office achieves the goals of the main projects in which it is involved.Assess the competencies of the staff responsible for leading the engineering and architecture teams and distribute the responsibility within the teams as deemed necessary.Work closely with project managers, design managers, project engineers, department heads and project delivery managers to develop execution plans, staffing plans, planning and budgets so that GDS objectives are met.Focuses on project launches, ensuring that inputs / resources and planning coming to architecture and engineering teams support quality outputs / products.Distribute engineers or architects to solve complex problems.Intervenes, when necessary, with coaching / mentoring sessions, to help architectural and engineering teams overcome certain technical gaps.Participates in routine project meetings, focusing on coordinating architectural and engineering teams and identifying areas for improvement or support in order to meet customer requirements.Advises and coordinates activities with other functional leaders to carry out their duties.Assess, together with the project delivery manager, the productivity of the architectural and engineering teams in order to identify areas for improvement.Acts as an interface between customers and team leaders, to help maintain good relationships and resolve any issues or gaps.Deal with escalation raised on technical / quality / behavioral background and liase with the associated stakeholders to mitigate any impact.Take part in our win work / pipeline global meetings to maximize our engagement and the pipeline visibility.Collaborate across Aecom Design Delivery Centers, part of our Enterprise Capability Center organization, to optimize the use of resources and strengthen global working streams collaboration across relevant discipline Minimum Requirements Experience in managing a design team and working in a multidisciplinary environmentSound knowledge of design, documentation, and overall consultancy servicesExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong management skills and experience.Ability to gain client confidence and trust, through strong technical communication skills.
