As an Engineering Manager, you’ll get the chance to work in Germany, Poland (remote), Portugal (remote), or Romania (remote) with various people from a completely international environment and having the liberty to implement your ideas and processes in your very own pack with us. They master discovery search and recommendations, making the buyer journey delightful.What you will be doing:As an Engineering Manager, you’ll lead software developers that are making a big impact by managing OLX Europe relevance solutions. Your work with us is to lead and shape an effective multi-functional team. You will capture requirements, lead technical projects, define the ambitious but balanced scope of those projects and partner across teams to address technical problems and ensure smooth solution implementation.In our teams, managers have not only the strong expertise to take on and provide technical leadership to major projects, but also manage a team of engineers. You’ll organise and lead the team’s projects and personal goals, contribute to product strategy and help develop the team.Duties: Leading a multi-functional engineering team, Contributing to scaling our platform to the next level of modularity & shareability while working on architecture, tools, standards, and practices for the engineering European organisation.Hiring, onboarding, mentoring, coaching, giving feedback and building career development plans for your team members.Leading by example, caring for your team and establishing credibility with the quality of your own and your team’s technical execution.Putting in place and continuously improving quality practices (code quality, testing, release management)Encouraging the team to innovate, invent, implement and deploy complex software solutions.Working closely with the product management team to align technology solutions with the product vision. Supporting the team with as much or little process as they require, e.g. implementing Scrum or other methodology effectively. Who we’re looking for: Previous Experience as a Software Engineer or in a similar field in Computer Science.Track Record of proven people management experience focused on developing and growing people. Not just on putting people on the path, but dealing with all sorts of situations.Passion and experience architecting, building and scaling services, cloud-based systems serving millions of users.
