ESG Research Analyst in Cernavodã

About the role:The ESG analyst will be part of the Indicator Development Team, which operates within the Content Leadership and Editorial Oversight Team, part of Sustainalytics’ ESG research division. The team is responsible for developing new indicators and improving existing ones, as well as the related internal and external indicator research guidance. The candidate will work with the Manager of the Indicator Development Team, Research Managers or analysts from Research teams and the Methodology and Product Architecture Team, and Change and Release Managers of the Research Transformation Team. The candidate will design new indicators to support our product strategy and work on internal indicator guidance development/ enhancements to achieve organization effectiveness. The candidate will also work on developing external indicator guidance to support issuers with interpreting ESG assessments. The ESG analyst will have a good understanding of ESG research processes, and of international ESG reporting initiatives like GRI or SASB. The candidate will successfully release indicator proposals for new/adjusted research requirements in order to accelerate growth, stimulate product innovation and to improve the efficiency and quality of the research process.Job responsibilities:• Designs new indicators by defining the scope, the scoring scheme and the internal and external guidance text for new indicators. Ensures new/ updated indicator proposals are tested before the proposals are submitted for approval.• Analyzes existing internal and external indicators and related guidance and creates recommendations for improvements. Prepares proposals where there are several possible courses of action.• Ensures that all indicators are designed so that Text Mining can be applied• Conduct workload analysis for new/adjusted indicators• Liaises with the Indicator Team Manager on the indicator roadmap planning• Supports with the execution of the project portfolio of all indicator projects• Collaborates with analysts from other research teams in the design/testing of new indicators.• Act as an ambassador for indicator change initiatives.Qualifications:• Master's degree• 2+ years' experience in research, preferably on ESG (environmental/ social/ corporate governance) topics• Strong analytical skills and creative, problem-solving attitude; decisiveness• Excellent English skills (at least B2 level) are required as the company’s working language is English;• Ability to work cross-functionally with ease and manage competing interests• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
