The mission
As part of the development towards a “Next Generation Digital Banking Platform”, ING is renewing the data management capabilities globally. The Tribe Data Management realises, as part of the “Unite programme”, an integrated data management platform for the Dutch and Belgian organisations: the “Unite data lake”. This is an ambitious implementation based on state-of-the-art technology.
The Tribe members, located in in The Netherlands, Belgium and Romania, are responsible of loading and integrating data in the Unite data lake according to business requirements, based on the source of record’s specifics. We also provide data to important consumers like Finance, Risk, Analytics and ING Group. The cross-border Tribe Data Management fulfils a crucial role for all Tribes in the Netherlands and Belgium. In this large and complex environment, the Feature Engineer acts as a bridge between the Architecture decisions and the data content and consumption squads.
Your day to day
- Contribute to lifecycle management of Unite Data Lake implementation
- Contribute to the vision on the IT requirements within the domain
- Translating functional and non-functional requirements into Feature BluePrints,
taking into account the Architecture design decisions, making the features “ready for implementation” and breakdown into user stories - Supporting the IT Architects in the creation & review of the design decisions
- Detail Architecture standards and define technical concepts in line with the ING Reference Architecture
- Manage the current state Architecture for the data flows
- Manage cross-squad dependencies to ensure an end-to-end delivery in the Tribe
- Supports the delivery alignment with other Tribes
- Manage the delivery roadmaps: define, plan, follow-up (cross-squad with a time-horizon of 3-6 months)
- Track and control planned activities (including dependencies) submitted from squads and suppliers of the projects
- Responsible for the delivery and updating of documentation for different solutions, the implementation process and analyses within the area of expertise
- Plan, perform and manage the Quality Assurance activities and ensure that work efforts are adhering to the procedures of the Quality Management System
We are looking for someone with:
- Good understanding of data warehouse / data lake concepts, extended experience with data integration and data processing
- Experience in data driven IT solutions (DWH, BI, Data Lake) and/or knowledge of one or more major reporting domains in banking field (financial, risk, commercial, regulatory & compliance)
- Experience converting business requirements into technical solutions and/or applications
- Experience working in large and complex environments
- Excellent communication skills & able to adapt to a variety of stakeholders (PO’s, CJE’s, Engineers, Architects, Senior management)
- Understanding of Agile - Scrum methodology
- Proficient in English (verbal and writing)
- Able to work autonomously, good self-planning
- Enthusiastic personality, bringing pleasure and connection with Agile methodology in multidisciplinary teams.
