We help children of all backgrounds, even in the most dangerous places, inspired by our Christian faith.Come join our 34,000+ staff working in nearly 100 countries and share the joy of transforming vulnerable children’s life stories!Employee Contract Type:Local - Fixed Term Employee (Fixed Term)Job Description:MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES1-Local (Government) Reportinga-Ensure Compliance with Local legislation, WVI and donor requirements.b-Ensure accurate and timely submission of tax, social security and other mandatory reports required by local governmental bodies.c-Support during the government audit-Ministry of finance audit2-Accounting, Compliance & Monitoring a-Ensure review of the source documents/ payment packages before processing the payments to ensure alignment with local legislation and WVI and donor regulations.b-Ensure accurate and timely financial data into the standard registers as required.c-Ensure payments are processed within 3 working days after complete supporting documents submitted to the Accountingd-Ensure all bank accounts balances are reconciled monthlyf- Balance sheet accounts are reconciled and outstanding balances are justified with g-clear vision on when they will be clearedh-Ensure all submitted EERs are reviewed timely and there are no outstanding advances to the staff.i-Ensure proper coding while preparing the data entry vouchersj-Make sure that the coding used are valid of any pre-requisition order and there is a budget availability for PR’s raisedk. Assist Grants finance Manager in audit preparation to provide required documentationl-Respond to all auditors requirements in adequate mannerm-Ensure a proper filing system for their payments and journalsn-Perform organisational capacity assessment for partnerso-Conduct capacity building to partners to ensure a proper implementation of WVI policies and procedures as well donors rules and regulationsp-Perform site and partner monitoring visitsq-reconcile the labour distribution report on a monthly basis and follow up on missing and wrong LDR’sr-prepare all adjusting and re-allocation requested from GFM and PMss-Follow up on accrual reports3-Perform other duties as requireda-Attend and participate in capacity building trainings locally and internationally.b-Attend and participate in WVL’s spiritual nurture and other organizational events.c- Responsible of own security and actively contribute to a positive security culture.d-Abide by the security policies and procedures and report any incidents or breaches to line manager and / or security manager.•Perform other duties as assigned by the Line ManagerREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSMinimum 3 years of experience in accounting position with medium business/medium NGO/government agencyExperience with humanitarian aid in-country is a plusDegree or equivalent in accounting and finance or any relevant fieldPractical knowledge of financial basics.Knowledge of basic accounting principles is required.Effective in written and oral communication in Kurdish, working knowledge of English.Requires good computer skills (Excel, World, Spreadsheets).Must be self-motivated, innovation, able to work under pressureBasic understanding of business principles.Be organized, accurate and able to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONSRequires good computer skills (Excel, World, Spreadsheets).Must be self-motivated, innovation, able to work under pressureBasic understanding of business principles.
