We invest deeply in our company culture and our team’s wellbeing, knowing this is where the world’s greatest products and companies flourish. We are looking for a multilingual, experienced Freelance Translator to interpret written and audio pieces in different languages, making sure to maintain their original meaning, format, and tone.As a Freelance Translator, your responsibilities include reading and thoroughly understanding the context of given material, using specialized dictionaries and translation tools, and proofreading finished pieces of work.Ideally, you will provide ready-to-use translated content that meets our internal needs and helps us reach a broader audience.For this role, a strong Internet connection is required, along with experience using communication and collaboration tools like Slack, Zoom, Monday, Teemyco, and Google suite of tools.Who you are:An open-minded person with a strong work ethic who is wanting to become one of the most impactful Translators in the world Solid time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasksGoal-oriented, driven by a sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on the company’s successAn independent self-starter with an insatiable curiosity to learn, succeed and lead by exampleTeam player and collaborator Strong written and oral communication skillsProblem-solving attitudeWillingness to learn to understand new tools, systemsWhat you’ll do:Read through the original material and rewrite it in the target language, ensuring that the meaning of the source text is retainedShare the tools and resources used such as translation memory software, such as Wordfast, memoQ, Across, Trados Studio, and Transit NXT, to ensure consistency of translation within documents and help efficiencyuse specialist dictionaries, thesauruses, and reference books to find the closest equivalents for terminology and words useduse appropriate software for presentation and deliveryresearch legal, technical and scientific phraseology to find the correct translationliaise with clients to discuss any unclear pointsproofread and edit final translated versionsprovide quotations for translation services offeredconsult with experts in specialist areasretain and develop knowledge in specialist areas of translationfollow various translation-quality standards to ensure legal and ethical obligations to the customerExcellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling, and punctuation errorsGood knowledge of content editing toolsFamiliarity with translation softwareQualifications (any or all):BSc in Translation, Interpreting, or similar fieldProven work experience as a Translator, Interpreter, or similar roleAdditional certification in Linguistics is a plusYour own unique talents!
