Head of Engineering for Refurbishment in Cernavodã

General Accountabilities Ensuring the execution of all engineering activities in accordance with the quality requirements and applicable codes and standards and with the choice of the technically optimal solution Approves of engineering deliverables, including detailed solutions, technical specifications, and the implementation and testing plans for refurbishment activities Develop goals, objectives, and operating procedures for the Engineering Team Provide, integrate, and maintain the procedures that govern engineering management Oversee and participate in the planning of engineering projects to include all engineering disciplines required, including design, procurement, and construction Control engineering expenditures within limitations of the project budget Provide documented evidence that applicable engineering program requirements are being met Ensure that Design Integrity of all projects is aligned and integrated with SNN Engineering Processes Manage timely completion of key inputs and deliverables as necessary to support executive-level critical decisions Maintain plant design integrity Represent SNN in matters of engineering as required Provide expert counsel in highly technical principles, practices, techniques, and skills of engineering science in order to ensure that all designs meet appropriate standards Establish measures to ensure that appropriate engineering documents are prepared Provide input to corporate budget and exercise full authority over the use of funds in project budget Provide services and/or fully qualified individuals as required to support program/project delivery Direct the development and execution of the engineering scope, schedule, and budget Review all engineering, procurement, and construction plans for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, contract requirements, and related specifications Lead processes for managed transfer of engineering information and documents between contractors and SNN Selection Criteria A Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering is required Direct involvement in a CANDU Refurbishment Project/Organization within the past 3 years will be an advantage In depth knowledge of site outage/installation/maintenance of CANDU Nuclear Power Plants Comprehensive understanding of CANDU technology and operations Demonstrated capability to manage and lead Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality products under tight timelines and high pressure to support unit restart schedules Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain excellent client relationships Excellent problem-solving skills and experience in leading technical projects to successful conclusions A Professional Engineer of Ontario (PEO) or eligible for PEO status with a passion for engineering is preferred but not required Experience in project management and interfacing with and coordinating activities of multi-disciplinary teams Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and have demonstrated a high commitment to quality Romanian Language proficiency would be beneficial, but is not a requirement This role requires full-time relocation to Cernavoda, Romania for an extended duration.
