Job Description
We have a great opportunity for a Process & Automation Engineer to join our Honeywell Building Technologies team in Lugoj! You will provide technical expertise to ensure the Automation Development of our production site. You will identify ways to improve safety, quality, technical and the capability of existing processes while also assisting in the scale up and implementation of developmental processes. Core activities include leading continuous process improvement to drive Key Performance Indicators for the operation to meet goals established by the business along with providing technical guidance to the operations team to assist with process troubleshooting along with developing corrective action plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Automation Development - Managing automation projects built by outside custom automation vendors; Provide automation and process control actions, configuration, and ongoing support for operations, whilst identifying potential process improvement projects, including design and develop PLC programs to address them properly.
- Work with Product Designers, Project Managers, and Manufacturing personnel to refine product and equipment designs.
- Manufacturing Operations Support - Develop and implement long range plans for process control improvements; Develop/modify procedures & training guidelines as needed for automation processes, including training of setup and maintenance personnel.
- Project Management Provide leadership and communication to all project team members and functional managers such that the project objectives are clear, responsibilities are understood and progress is tracked and reported; Prioritize and balance workload of multiple project assignments based on business and functional objectives.
- Technical - Work with outside custom automation vendors to control the architecture design and implementation, ensuring the correct support of motion controller configuration, setup, fine tuning, data collection, data analysis and reporting, and equipment safety requirements.
- Quality - Maintain current and ensure appropriate SOP’s are followed on all projects, including: equipment development process, product development process and process controls
Qualifications:
- 2-3+ years in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated ability developing and implementing automation processes and equipment.
- Solid experience with PLC’s/HMI, robots, motion controls and associated programming software (other programming languages are considered an advantage)
- University Degree required. Science degree in Automation, Electrical or other related engineering discipline is considered an advantage
- Possess plant maintenance and operation knowledge along with technical skills to perform assigned duties.
- Solid English knowledge
