As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will implement new architectures, features, and best practices to scale the Cloudbeds subscription billing capabilities. In addition to our customer-facing products, your work on integrations with our CRM, financial, and ticketing systems support the scale and operations of our globally distributed, #remotefirst team. Your goal is to deliver exceptional software in a risk-averse, yet agile development methodology. You prefer projects where test coverage and accuracy is top of mind. Alongside your team, you will leverage modern SaaS and Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies across all layers of the software stack.Location: Remote - RomaniaWhat You Will Do: Produce clean, well-documented, and beautiful code as part of a high performing, agile software team focused on internal products and integrations in a rapidly growing, global SaaS companyHelp design the long term vision of our internal technology footprintPromote best practices to improve the quality of our code and processes.Drive technical decisions within the team.Advocate for quality and test automation.You’ll Succeed With: 5+ years of PHP web application software engineering experience.2+ years experience  one or more modern PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony, CodeIgniter)Deep experience with Cloud Systems and architectures (AWS strongly preferred) A strong business sense and ability to collaborate with leadership and non-technical stakeholders on highly visible projects.A passion for risk-averse development, testing, and release processesStrong teamwork, leadership, and time management skills.Passionate about agile practices, personal improvement, and working in concert with a high performing team.Business level English fluency required (verbal and written skills).Nice to Have:Experience working with modern JS frameworks, like Angular.JS and React2+ Years of experience working with Salesforce integration technologiesExperience working with Stripe API and/or other payment integrationsStrong experience with AWSExperience working with a remote-first and globally distributed team.Travel industry experience is a plus but definitely not required!Experience with Atlassian products [Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket].Our company culture supports flexible working schedules with an open Paid Time Away policy and gives all team members the opportunity to travel and work remotely with great people.
