Senior Contract Manager in Bucuresti

Location: Romania Industry: Highly Regulated (e.g., Energy, Infrastructure, Construction, Transportation, or Pharmaceuticals) Job Type: Full-time, Permanent The Senior Contract Manager is responsible for overseeing the lifecycle of complex contracts under NEC, FIDIC, and CPC frameworks within a highly regulated industry. The role requires expertise in contract negotiation, risk management, compliance, and stakeholder coordination. The successful candidate will ensure contractual obligations align with regulatory standards and business objectives while mitigating risks. Requirements Key Responsibilities 1. Contract Management & Administration Lead the drafting, negotiation, and administration of contracts under NEC, FIDIC, and CPC standards. Ensure compliance with Romanian laws and industry regulations . Manage contract variations, claims, and dispute resolution. Support procurement teams in contract structuring and strategy. Maintain contract documentation and audit trails. 2. Risk & Compliance Management Identify contractual risks and develop mitigation strategies. Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (e.g., environmental, health & safety, financial). Conduct internal contract compliance audits and implement corrective actions. Manage disputes and claims, working closely with legal and commercial teams. 3. Stakeholder & Supplier Management Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies. Support project managers in contract execution and performance monitoring. Work with cross-functional teams (legal, finance, procurement, engineering). 4. Dispute Resolution & Claims Management Lead negotiations in claims and contract disputes. Support arbitration, mediation, and litigation when necessary. Interpret contract clauses and enforce contract rights effectively. 5. Continuous Improvement & Reporting Develop contract management best practices and training. Improve contract governance and performance tracking. Report contract KPIs, risks, and compliance issues to senior leadership. Essential: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Engineering, Business, or a related field . 8+ years of experience in contract management within a highly regulated industry . Strong expertise in NEC, FIDIC, and CPC contracts . Experience managing high-value contracts (€50M+). Deep knowledge of Romanian commercial, construction, and contract law. Proven ability to handle contract disputes and claims . Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills. Desirable: Certification in NEC, FIDIC, or CPC contract management . Experience with EU-funded projects or public procurement . Familiarity with BIM, project management methodologies, and digital contract management tools . Fluency in Romanian and English
