Job DescriptionThe Cost Engineer is responsible for managing the vehicle cost activity related with the techno-economic analyses of the vehicle parts price into Alliance Costing Organization DepartmentYou will work with multiple cross-functional organizations, both regionally and globally. The Cost Engineer will be responsible for defining cost methodology and process for assessment of component and material cost on vehicle parts.The selected candidate will have a high degree of autonomy and can experience significant career growth.This role involves a high level of independent judgment, initiative, creativity, and the overseeing of multiple projects that focus specifically on developing and articulating cost models. The Cost Engineer will have exposure to the next generation of automotive transportation all while working with the leading-edge automotive technologies.Responsible to assess the cost of component designs from inception to production:Must have a vehicle part process knowledge’s and the ability to lead changePartner with Purchasing during negotiationsPartner with Engineering Team for design to cost activitiesCollaborating globally for component design and manufacturing knowledge in all regions.Able to assimilate large amounts of cost data, condense this data for vehicle level reporting to TOP managementOccasional domestic and international travel to supplier facilities for enhanced costing collaborationSpecial trainings locally and/or abroadQualifications:Technical University Degree or related technical experience for body equipment* perimeterRequired Skills:Ability to manage multiple complex projects and assignments with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for resultsAnalytical ability where problems are unusual or difficultEffective communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with local and global team members to solve problems and resolve issuesGood level of understanding of assigned processes; understanding of a breadth of integrated processesDemonstrated ability in use of Microsoft Office softwareLanguage English and/or French minimum intermediate levelPreferred Skills:0 – 3 years engineering experienceKnowledge’s on cost structures of the automotive partsExperience with any of the following technologies:Deco, chroming, paintingPlastic Injection or Blow MoldingStampingCastingMachiningWeldingExtusionKnowlege about the following components/systems are very important:BIW partsBody equipments parts (SaftySeats,Glazing& mirrors,interior & exterior tims,lighting)Chassis parts (cooling,exhaust,wheels,fuel tank,axles)You will be located in Bucharest or Mioveni within our dynamic team.
