Chief Accountant in Bucuresti

We are looking for a team player with the desire to be an active, long-term contributor in the growth of the accounting team and organization overall.


  • Oversee financial activities for IFRS and statutory accounts, including month end closing cycle
  • Collaborate closely with external accounting services provider
  • Maintain fixed assets register
  • Supervise and clear open items
  • Secure compliance with local tax rules (VAT, CIT) and statutory regulations by close cooperation with external tax advisors
  • Cooperate with local Tax Authorities, especially during tax audits
  • Prepare annual statutory financial statements, requests for auditors and ad hoc reports and analyses as requested
  • Review and prepare various flux analysis for P&L, balance sheet, schedules, journal entries (incl. accruals, provisions) and account reconciliations
  • Review expenses to determine proper classification, timing, and recognition
  • Ensure proper categorization of balance sheet amounts
  • Cooperate actively with controlling team and supervise activities of junior accountants
  • Take ownership of assigned process areas

  • Academic degree in accounting or finance
  • Previous experience in multinational companies and multicultural environment
  • Knowledge and experience with a large ERP system (preferably Oracle)
  • Very good command of business English (speaking and writing)
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and process improvement skills
  • Proactive attitude and great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability and ease to collaborate with peers and communicate effectively with all levels of management and external auditors
