*A Snapshot of Your Day* Translating the global commodity strategy (Ecosystem) into Business Unit specific strategy and update this documentation regularly. Also, you communicate and teach the commodity strategy to stakeholders, and you ensure the proper execution within the businesses *How You’ll Make an Impact* * Develop a competitive supplier portfolio through continuous assessment of the supplier base performances against relevant business KPIs (costs, performance, quality, etc.). * Defining and implementing a Commodity and Pooling strategies upon close alignment with cross functional stakeholders, such as Operative Procurement, Engineering and Finance/Controlling. * Negotiation of purchasing agreements and quotes for engineering services: * Manage and foster the long-term relationship with key suppliers and reduce dependencies on avoidable suppliers. * Support market & supplier analysis and perform supplier scouting initiatives based on demands within our R&D Functions * Ensure PVO transparency for assigned commodities, correct ESN coding to ensure a correct reporting and to derive an appropriate commodity strategy. * Identify specific procurement risks, opportunities, and market forces to avoid potential damage/ exploit potential opportunities through tailored risk/opportunity management. * Ensure PVO transparency for assigned commodities, correct ESN coding to ensure a correct reporting and to derive an appropriate commodity strategy. *What You Bring  * * BA/BS- in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or related field * A minimum of 5-10 years’ of collective experience working in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Sourcing, Engineering Technical Knowledge * Experience managing Long Term Contracts and negotiating complex terms and conditions. * Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word * Familiar with operations in SAP * English, at professional working profiency level. * Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of time * Collaborative approach to working within a team environment; a consensus builder * You enjoy processing, sharing and interpreting information in a global team = Excellent communication Skills * Must be willing to learn and drive a change in a global environment, along with ability to influence through effective verbal and written communication skills. * Strong organizational and time management skills         *About the Team * We are group of Commodity Management professionals that are part of a Global Centralized Commodity Management Team for Indirect Spend (non-Product Related) for Siemens Energy, supporting Rotating Equipment and other component within Generation and Industrial Application Business Unit but also Transmission Business Unit and the new Fields of Technologies with main manufacturing/R&D locations in Charlotte (US), Orlando (US), Montreal (CA) Berlin (DE) & Muelheim (DE).
