Compensation Analyst in Alexandria

Job Summary/Company: Are you passionate about HR? Are you detail oriented and results driven? We are currently hiring for a Compensation Analyst in the Northern Virginia area. Responsibilities: Partners with assigned departments and their HR related staff for Compensation related requests, including but not limited to reclassifications, pay adjustments, equity reviews, identifying hiring salaries, and issuing discretionary rewards. Conducts analysis of requests, gathers data, interviews stakeholders and employees, and provides recommendations to departments that align with the compensation philosophy and the business objectives of the departments. Develops and presents HR recommendations and results directly to departments. Participates in and supports projects and initiatives in compensation. Assists in the maintenance of the classifications and pay programs. Monitors and maintains the Compensation Division's intake and distribution of department requests. Participates in surveys and responds to requests for information from other jurisdictions. Maintains professional relationships with colleagues in the Classification and Compensation public sector arena, including those in the approved comparator jurisdictions. Provides back-up support to fellow Compensation Analysts. Performs related work as required. Qualifications/Background Profile: To qualify for this position, all candidates must possess a bachelor's degree; three years professional experience in a human resources management field; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. To be considered as an ideal candidate, one should also possess at least three years of experience in compensation. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Experience writing and presenting reports.
