We are currently looking for a Data Scientist to join our Cyber Intelligence team. A key responsibility includes the development and maintenance of machine learning models, starting from the most critical for any business use cases, like models for the attrition and customer retention, lead/opportunity conversions, lifetime value, the employee retention, and beyond. The uniqueness of Acronis products leads to fascinating analytic, modeling, and programming challenges.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
You are responsible for model development and maintenance across the whole model life cycle from first modelling idea to final implementation. You interact with model users and stakeholders, explain model results and advise on their implications.Our databases offer unique opportunities to challenge alternative modelling approaches and think out of the box when searching for the best model. You will apply various kinds of Machine Learning and ‘classical’ statistical approaches. Examples are attrition and customer retention models that support the business.Due to the unique characteristics of the data, understanding, collecting, and fixing data will be often critical and the most time-consuming parts of obtaining a high-performing ML model. You should be prepared for a lot of manual tasks, including:
Reviewing whether the nature and quality of the data enables the business task formulation.Execute well-designed, manual feature engineering to streamline tasks for the models. Both responsibilities involve close collaboration and communication with the business department to justify the project’s feasibility and make "each constructed feature count.".
You will work in an international, culturally diverse team of business analysts, data scientists, software developers and interact with sales and financial managers beyond the team. You will be uniquely placed to get to know Acronis business from all sides, which will allow you to support the business with models and advise. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
You are enthusiastic about implementing machine learning algorithms. You have hands-on modelling experience, ideally from a business context. You have proven your fundamental knowledge of methods by a master level degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g. Statistics, Machine Learning, Physics or Mathematics).You want to understand the business and processes that generate your data, as this is your prerequisite to draw conclusions from it and interpret results. Existing knowledge of business processes in the technology sector would be an advantage.You have above-average coding skills in statistical programming languages such as Python. You know SQL and relational databases.You are a team player, enjoy working – also remotely – in an international team.You are strong in presenting your analyses’ results to senior management and feel comfortable communicating such content also to non-technical audiences.You are committed, willing to take responsibility, and able to work autonomously and in parallel on various assignments towards tight deadlines.Fluency in English is required.
