Embedded Software Engineer

The Systems Development Group (SDG) is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join our customer facing product reference designs team that supports broad range of industry leading high-performance linear solutions and standard products in end applications such as industrial automation, instrumentation, automotive, healthcare and communication systems.

The Embedded SW Engineer is responsible for developing embedded device drivers and reference designs interfacing our products to various embedded processors including FPGAs. As part of a cross functional team, the Embedded SW Development Engineer performs definition, development, implementation and documentation of the reference designs, support the embedded FPGA/HDL design team in testing, bring-up and debug; and provide technical support for our global customers.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create and maintain device drivers and software projects for embedded systems, processors and microcontroller based platforms.
  • Work in close collaboration with the hardware team for developing new platforms
  • Writing and publishing collateral such as Application Notes, Tech Briefs, Technical Articles, etc.
  • Provide customer support through the ADI Engineer Zone forum

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • BSc/MSc Degree in IT or Engineering with 0-3 years of relevant working experience in a software environment
  • Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of software development languages, including but not limited to C, C++, Python or shell scripting
  • Previous experience with embedded Linux systems is a plus
  • Good understanding of electronics and embedded systems
  • Good understanding of embedded software design and development practices
  • Have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Have the ability to work independently and in a team to develop innovative solutions
