POSITION SUMMARY:

The Application Development Manager is responsible for enabling strategic initiatives across key product lines, target applications and accounts. It acts as the sales link to product development marketing / verticals providing customer and industry insight related to product/application needs and industry trends. This role provides detailed technical/product application consulting that address the most critical business and operational needs for Hach’s key customers.

As our EU Application Development Manager (f/m/d) you can be based anywhere in EU (with access to a global airport).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recognized as an industry expert in their assigned process and vertical market

  • Works closely with front line sales to consult and educate key customers

  • Works closely with customers to solve “complex” problems delivering efficiencies, optimization and cost saving that address the customers primary business/operational needs

  • Provides key market insight to internal sales and marketing groups to facilitate development of strategic business and marketing plans. Also provides voice-of-customer and application insight to product planning and development teams

  • Leads field evaluations for complex application evaluations

  • Works closely with defined key accounts to support growth

  • Collects and develops information to support and develop sales tools (value sell documents, application notes, quick reference sale notes, competitive analysis, etc.) 

  • Provides presentation leadership at Hach sponsored seminars, and National industry sponsored seminars and conferences.

  • Builds internal relationships across all departments to promote ADM capabilities and enable growth

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA, BS or MS degree required. A degree in a science related field such as Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering or equivalent is preferred.
  • 5 years successful sales experience preferable within designated assigned market place.
  • Must have good computer skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.)
  • Demonstrates exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical customers. Requires proven ability to speak before large groups.
  • Must exhibit the willingness and ability to assimilate technical information quickly.
  • Ability to travel up to 70% 
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver license and a driving record which is acceptable to Hach
