JOB DESCRIPTION Job Description SummaryAccountant on STAT and TAX areaResponsible for processing / validation of STAT accounting records and support local team with VAT & TAX returns preparation according with the principles of the Romanian Accounting Regulations and Fiscal Laws.Reports to Finance Manager – Statutory.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesSTAT Accounting records: Responsible for a proper STAT bookkeeping and reconciliations based on valid documentation which is compliant with local STAT and TAX legislation & GE internal requirementsReconcile ICO, AR and AP transactions and validate supporting documents for STAT & TAX compliance purposesBilling to external customers (limited volume, increased complexity) in close contact with business teamSupport with inventory reconciliation including physical stock countsWork closely with Strategic partners (Genpact, 4Q etc.) and business team who are in charge with USGAAP reporting, Buy to Pay activities etc.Prepare GAAP to STAT reconciliationSupport periodic audits with STAT auditorsSupport for various projects related to STAT & TAX reporting areaArchive the documents to ensure full safeguards around company recordsTaxation and fillings:Supporting preparation of tax and related returns, proper and timely calculation, submission and settlement of liabilities to the state budget as per tax regulations (VAT, Corporate Income Tax, WHT)Support preparation of STAT to TAX reconciliationMaintains professional relations with local authorities, support for periodic audits from tax authoritiesProvide information on TP files preparationInitiate tax and other urgent payments workflows where applicablePrepare various statistical reportsKey Performance IndicatorsMinimal audit breaches on STAT and TAX complianceAccurate, timely & compliant STAT & TAX financial records & reportingSTAT Account reconciliations – focus on timely & qualitative work, limited number of open itemsStakeholders feedbackRequired QualificationsDegree in accounting5 years+ experience in an accountant positionGood knowledge of accounting and tax lawsFluent in Romanian and EnglishGood command of MS Office (especially Excel)Excellent interpersonal skillsProactive approachAbility to work effectively in a cross-functional, global team environmentAnalytical thinkingAble to meet tight deadlinesDesired CharacteristicsAble to work with accounting software (Oracle, SAP is a plus)Membership or student with relevant professional bodies CEECAR, CAFR, Fiscal Consultant, ACCA is a plus
