NXP extends the hardware manufacturing operation in Guadalajara to support the New Production Introduction (NPI), system design, hardware manufacturing & system integration.We now offer the technical position of Hardware CAD Designer for NXP’s Board Solutions Group in America, responsible for all aspect of hardware board design from the concept and design to manufacture, testability, safety and quality of the hardware products.The Hardware CAD Engineer will be responsible for:Review, approve and provide feedback on schematics, PCB placements and layout requirements.Implement PCB layout according to the layout consideration documents (LCD).Responsible for the creation of the PCB layout files, such as ODB++, Geber (GRB) and fabrication drawing and layer stack-up information per Board Solutions documentation standards.Release of the PCB design files in NXP’s Product Data Management database (Agile).Utilize the NXP Component Library (NCL) to reuse design methodologies and leverage exiting designs and components for future projects and collaborate with CAD Library team to implement NCL improvements.Work proactively with external PCB fabrication shops to optimize cost, quality, on time delivery and ensure fabrication requirements of a project.Conduct fabrication readiness review and ensure NPI process adherence for all CAD activities.Provide training to BU designers in tools and use of NCL library.Improve core competency in layout practices and CAD tools and technologies.Participate in peer reviews of CAD library and PCB layouts to improve design process across the Board Solutions Group.Engage with IC packaging team to optimize package pinouts for performance, routability, and cost.Responsible for identifying and communicating layout risks to the project team, ultimate decision to proceed will be made by the Product Engineer.Escalate CAD PCB related issues to Project Manager, CAD Manager or Site Manager.Required Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in electronics, product & industrial design, or related filed.Minimum of 5 years experiences in PCB CAD design experiences or equivalent working experience in a PCB, design/manufacturing environment.Proficiency with Allegro PCB Designer is mandatory, and experience with other CAD tools such as, EAGLE and Altium is a plus.Familiar with thermal analysis tools (IcePak, Ansys) and ability to perform thermal analysis to product design is a PLUS.Knowledge and experiences in mechanical or thermal simulation is desirableExperience in ball map optimization with IC packaging focus is highly desirable.Experience designing high-layer count (>12) PCBs with multi-lamination construction is desired.Experience with creating symbols and library parts using library tools.Understand PCB and PCBA manufacturing process and quality requirement. Understand DFx process.Experience with IPC standards as relate to PCB design, fabrication and assembly.Solid high speed digital signal design and test experience are required.Solid understanding of electronics components are required.Experience in HDI, Ethernet switch, router, wireless charging, embedded systems, power meter, RF and wireless, Touchpad/Touch-screen system development will be an extreme advantage.Good communication and teamwork skill.Flexibility to work overtime hours when required.
