Job Description

Microchip Romania is searching for Application Hardware Engineers to be part of the Analog Power and Interface Division in Bucharest. He/She will be responsible with the design for manufacturing, support and assist Application Engineering global teams with Microchip’s Evaluation and Reference Boards to highlight the key features of the new released devices.

Job Description:

  • Assist Application Engineers with the design of PCB – layouts, using CAD tools, being involved from schematic to the manufacturing process, validating and testing first prototypes
  • HW Engineer must learn and follow internal procedures for developing evaluation and reference boards
  • Create new footprints libraries for new Microchip’s analog devices, generate Gerber files and Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Also, assist with creating technical documentation, generating and providing necessary design files
  • Will be in contact with PCB & Board assembly manufacturing vendors
  • Occasional support of the customer’s designs by giving technical guidance on solving problems, especially regarding boards constraints, accurate BOMs and layout tips.

    Job Requirements

    Requirements:

  • Degree in Electronics, Automatics or Electrical Engineering or other technical discipline
  • Experience with hardware design, CAD/CAM, PCB design tools (OrCad, Eagle, Proteus, Altium Designer preferred)
  • Good knowledge of electronic components function and technologies (SMD standard sizes, semiconductor packages, etc.)
  • Experience with PCB design or electronic modules manufacturing in a previous job is a plus
  • Basic knowledge of digital (microcontrollers) and analog circuits (operational amplifiers, analogue switches and PWM controllers, DC/DC linear and switching regulators or LEDs drivers).
  • Knowledge of the laboratory equipment and analyze results
