Key Responsibilities:Maintains a positive relationship while working closely with the staff to build a strong team through coaching, goal setting and constructive feedbackReaches and recommends best practices that can be followedEnsures staff is focused on customer service and moving all loads legally within guidelinesBuilds strong working relationships with local carriers to ensure that Maersk is a cost leaderWorks directly with LOC team to address equipment concerns, in particular where customer needs are not being coveredWorks closely with operations, customers, trucking companies and customer service to ensure movement of containers to customer’s satisfactionBuilds a strong working relationship with the local terminal management staff in order to ensure we achieve the most efficient movement of cargoMonitors, records and reports cost savings, unbudgeted expenses, service failures and empty equipment inventory to department manager, along with suitable recommendations.Generate reports from the system for and translate into Key Performance IndicatorsPerform monthly estimates regarding revenue and cost which was not invoiced and ensure that the rates are correct based on existing contracts.Take over and follow up daily operational issues, with both customers or vendors.Monitor and supervise owned trucks and drivers.Supervise train activity and organize weekly schedule based on volumes forecasted by main carrier and also multicarrier, transit time and capacity.Close connection with sales, procurement and product teams in order to develop best solutions for customers, based on their needs.We are looking for:· Bachelor’s degree and/or at least three years of experience in the transportation/shipping industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience· Strong understanding of the transportation industry· Excellent and open communication skills to people at all levels of an organization and stakeholders· Organizational and time management skills· Conflict resolution and negotiation· Drive for results/success – deliver under pressure, convey a sense of urgency and drive issues to closure, persist despite obstacles and opposition· Team player – works together with others in the business unit to achieve results, fosters teamwork· Customer focus: Is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal customers; driving for quality and improvement of products and services; acts with customers in mind· Represent the group in internal and external meetings· Advanced language skills – English requiredInland Operations Team Lead
