Reporting to the VP of Data this person will play a central role in advancing all aspects of our data management system. This includes playing a major role in the development of Amyris’s next-generation data platform.Responsibilities:Define and maintain optimized data models and pipelinesAssemble and munge data sets across multiple sources and systemsBuild out Analytic tools that help stakeholders understand our operations and customersCreate tools and data sets to assist other technical and non-technical groups within the companyMentor and lead junior members of the teamCreate and update internal system documentationMain requirementsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physical Science, or related field4+ years of experience building out robust production-ready data services and platformsExpertise in SQL, data lakes, data warehousing, and ETL systemsExpertise in at least one major programing language beyond SQL (Java, Python, C++, etc.)Experience working with ‘big data’ and associated systemsFamiliarity with best practices and processes for managing PII and access rights managementIn-depth knowledge of creating solutions on at least one of the large public cloud providers: AWS, GCC, or AzureExperience working within Salesforce, Domo, or other modern Analytic platformsAbility to discuss projects and systems with all members of the companyNice to haveExperience with stream-processing systemsExperience building out automated data QA systemExperience with: KPIs, Analytics, Reporting, Dashboards, or Data Science solutionsExperience in creating well thought out data modelsHistory of running data-centric and/or data management projectsAbility to manage stakeholder discussionsBenefits & PerksGet in early and help set the culture for a new development team that values fun, excellence, empowerment, and responsibilityWork Equipment, including a New 16" Macbook Pro (unless you prefer something else)Health InsuranceTraining&DevelopmentRegular performance reviews for rapid Career Growth24 paid Vacation DaysFlexible Working HoursRemote-friendly Environment (Portugal based)Opportunities for personal and professional growth
