Adecco Permanent Placement is recruiting a Legal Counsel, for one of its clients, a worldwide leading payments processor, offering payment and distribution services to thousands of retailers all over the world.
Ideal candidate
- Qualified as a lawyer in Romania.
- Fluent in Romanian and English.
- A minimum of 3 years of professional legal experience at a law firm and/or within an in-house legal department.
- Experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of corporate and commercial agreements.
- Good understanding of competition law, consumer protection law and data protection law.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work efficiently under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines.
- Strong legal research and analytical skills required.

As part of the EMEA Legal team, this role will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, structuring, interpreting, advising on and/or administering contractual documents with suppliers, partners, customers and distribution network, for the Romanian organization.
Additionally, the individual selected will need to become knowledgeable on the various areas of legislation that affect the business and advise on the regulatory implications on projects the business wishes to develop.
The Legal Counsel’s responsibilities will include: - Drafting, reviewing, revising and negotiating general and sophisticated corporate and commercial agreements, including, major account agreements, product supply and retail distribution agreements, IT agreements, services agreements, non-disclosure agreements, as well as addenda/amendments and statements of work;
- Driving contract lifecycle, from drafting through completion of the negotiation process and/or contract execution utilizing contract ticketing technology;
- Managing contract storage utilizing a contract storage database;
- Partnering with business colleagues globally, to achieve balance between Co’s commercial objectives and risk appetite;
- Maintaining a deep understanding of the templates, contracts policy, legal risk and liability, and company position on various matters;
- Preparing contracts for internal review and approval and ensuring compliance with company policies as well as applicable laws and regulations;
- Interpreting contracts and advising business teams on contractual responsibilities;
- Researching areas of legislation that affect the business;
- Advising on the regulatory implications of various business endeavors;
- Supporting efforts to effectively manage the delivery of legal services to the company.
