GSS also develops central competence for distinct services, projects and development and will support policy, procedures and system implementation on a global, regional, and local level. We are seeking a Linux System Administrator for our Linux Team based in Gdynia, Poland. The Linux System Administrator(s) will be part of our Linux team located within our Global Delivery Center in Gdynia. The Linux team consists of 4-5 full time resources and work in close interaction with the global IT organization. We operate mainly Enterprise Linux family distributions, both on-premise and in the public cloud. These systems serve as the platform for global ERP system, High Performance computational clusters and several other key business applications.Your key tasks and deliveries:We expect the Linux System Administrator to be a solid team player with experience from large multi cloud environments. The key responsibilities will be as follows:Setup and operation of physical and virtual Linux servers on an Enterprise levelSetup and operation of typical services and middleware (Apache, Samba, CUPS, NFS)Adherence to the GSS IT key service management processesDebugging and resolution of operational issues in a team of engineers based on business SLAsSupport and closely cooperate with application engineers, database administrators, storage, backup and network teamsParticipate in various projectsDocument work in standard tools, follow procedures (ITIL) and suggest further improvementsWe are looking for candidate with 2-4 years of relevant professional Linux experience who wants to join our well-established Linux team. The candidate should have the following experiences and qualities:Bachelor’s degree or similarKnowledge of Enterprise Linux family (RedHat, Rocky Linux and/or Oracle Linux)RHCSA certification or equivalent knowledge is a must, RHCE certification is a plusExperience with installing and configuring typical Linux services (Apache, CUPS, Samba, etc)Bonus points for any Ansible skills (Ansible is our tool of choice for automation)AWX/Tower experience would be simply greatExposure to public cloud, ideally Azure and/or Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including interacting with Cloud instances via APIExperience working with VMware vSPherePython and Bash scripting is a plusMetric gathering and digesting (Grafana/Prometheus)Red Hat Satellite / Spacewalk experience is a plusBasic understanding of Docker/Podman conceptsGit operational knowledgeand basic understanding of SRE/DevOps conceptsTo maximize your chances, you also need:Strong interpersonal skills and result orientationA great service-minded attitudeTo be both a team player and able to work independentlyGood communication skills in English, verbal and writtenIndividual should be self-motivated, proactive, and taking ownership when necessary
