ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES OUTLINEThe Naval Architecture Team leader is responsible for:Ensuring technical leading, supervision and team coordination of a multidisciplinary team of up to 7 designers, engineers, and draftsmen.Supervise project team and ensure project deliverables are executed on time, in budget and at the expected quality level and coordinate with ProjecT Manager on operational and project management issues;Act as a technical authority within the project;Perform design & engineering tasks within the project.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES – TECHNICAL SCOPE OF WORKAdvanced knowledge and experience in Stability calculations;Ability to elaborate technical specifications and concept design;Advanced knowledge of class rules and regulations;Provides technical leadership and supervises the professional development of junior engineers during on-the-project training;Executes portions of design / engineering at the direct request of the Project Manager, given the complexity of the technical supervision and coordination job is not high.Estimates project activity labour budgets within the area of responsibility;Plans and sequences the work activities and manpower requirements to meet project schedule obligations for the area of responsibility; provides accurate and timely planning input to the Planning Coordinator;Provides input for the weekly progress status of all project activities in the allocated scope, issues weekly project updates for reporting purpose;Maintains control of engineering costs and schedule in accordance with the established budgets and schedules;Performs technical reviews of the product (design deliverables, calculation reports, 3D model, etc) with team members to ensure that the generated solution meets or betters all project recognized standards;Provides input to the Project Manager with respect to possible solution alternatives providing also their time, cost and resources implications.REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEMaster’s Degree in Engineering (or equivalent of a Bachelor’s Degree plus 5 years Senior Engineer design experience) – diplomas in Naval Architecture field are a plus;Minimum of 8-year experience with demonstrated expertise and skill in ship/marine design in his/her field or discipline;Minimum 3-year supervisory experience in an engineering / draughting office environment;Minimum 5-year work experience in an ISO9001:2015 certified company;Minimum of 5-year experience in working with AVEVA Marine, AutoCad, and majority of other core design software tools utilized within his/her department / discipline;Must be fully proficient user of Microsoft Office suite;Fluent in English, both written and verbal communication, at B2-C1 level.Knowledgeable user of project management procedures and processes.Ability to work under pressure and propose efficient solutions.SOFT SKILLSGood Listening and communication skills; Appropriate non-verbal behaviour;Negotiating skills;Giving critique and feedback in a non-charging manner; Recognizing good work;Maintaining professionalism under pressure;Handling resistance and dealing with complaints; Reclaiming bad behaviors;Building morale;
