R&D IT – Database Subject Matter Expert in Bucuresti

We are looking for a DevOps engineer with the following characteristics:Master or Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field; with 10+ years of professional experience in Database/Systems Engineering or SMEDevelop architectural database strategies at the modeling, design, and implementation stages to address business or industry requirements.You are a technical, creative, analytical, and open-minded engineer eager to learn and not afraid to take the initiative.Experienced in the implementation and management of Database technologies and tooling, including Oracle, Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Postgres – at least two.Design and implement robust database engineering/administration solutions, including database resource management, security, backup and recovery, capacity planning, and implementing failover between database instances.Familiar with Database infrastructure service monitoring, performance tuning, and sizing for various workload types.Develop strategies to assure stability and high availability of production systems based on the database resource utilization trends.Experience managing database workloads in a hybrid cloud/on-prem environment.Experience migrating database workloads across datacenters or clouds.Good understanding of Storage, Windows, and Linux administration concepts.In-depth skills specific to database upgrades, migration, maintenance, tuning, and hardening.Has the ability, curiosity, and desire to understand the broader technology ecosystem outside own area of expertise to understand the true impact of own proposals, decisions, and actions.You have excellent English communication skills, both verbally as in writing.No issue to work outside business hours to support the platform for critical R&D Applications.Other competencies we value but are not strictly mandatory:Experience with agile development methods, like Scrum, and are convinced of its power to deliver products with immense (business) value.“Security” is your middle name, and you are always challenging yourself and your colleagues to design and develop new solutions as security tight as possible.Being a master in automation and orchestration with tools like Ansible Tower (or comparable) and feel comfortable developing new modules in Python or PowerShell.What NXP has to offer:An energetic team, which is and wants to remain a front-runner in IT Virtualization initiatives.A team that is an ambassador for Scrum and DevOps way of working within the NXP SAFe organization.In consultation with the team, flexibility in working hours and location.Continuous development of yourself as an individual.
