01-Apr-2021 Revenue Accounting Specialist ROM-Bucharest 35287BR Job Description Your ImpactWe are looking for a Revenue Accounting Specialist to assist our organization in the completion of monthly and quarterly closing processes related to revenue, deferred revenue, contract assets and unbilled receivables to ensure our financial statements are in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. With the recent adoption of new revenue recognition accounting guidance and the emergence of revenue accounting automation systems, the Revenue Accounting team is responsible for navigating the complexities associated with our transition to a new business model, the adoption of new regulatory rules, and ensuring that our systems can efficiently and effectively account for transactions in accordance with GAAP. We are a highly motivated, high performing multi-national organization with team members in the US and Europe. Day-To-Day: Analyze global revenue and balance sheet trends Critically review and validate systematic balances to ensure that activities performed produce the expected accounting resultsCoordinate, compile, and review global support for revenue judgments. Coordinate and respond to external audit queries for corporate quarterly and annual audits to ensure auditors are receiving required information in an accurate and timely manner. Proactively identify issues and process improvement opportunities, recommend solutions, and where appropriate, work with business partners and management to resolve or assist with implementation to improve efficiency. Assist with requirements gathering, designing, testing, and implementation of financial systems and report enhancements. Field, research, and respond to international finance teams, business leaders, and management queries and assist with ad hoc projects.Assist in monthly close process, including preparation of monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, accrual estimates and calculations.Create process and procedure documents.Preferred Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated expertise performing U.S. GAAP accounting (revenue recognition and/or accounting systems experience a plus)Demonstrated expertise utilizing VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, and web data retrieval to perform account & data reconciliations, analyze global account fluctuations, and ad hoc analysis projects.Demonstrated expertise analyzing multi-national company financial statements, and researching and documenting balance fluctuations from prior periods and expectations.
