Senior Design Engineer – Hull in Galaţi

THE ROLEThe Engineer, senior level, provides design and engineering expertise on assigned projects and contract work. He/she is responsible for performing engineering and design calculations, layouts and drawings, and 3D modelling in various design technologies, in accordance with the normaldesign flow, with relevant contractual obligations, with the requirements of various Rules and Regulations and good engineering practices, while meeting project quality objectives, and budget and schedule deadlines. Performs any other task related to the position or to the professional abilities requested by the Department Manager. KEY RESPONSABILITIESA. Technical knowledge & quality of executionApplying typical or specific knowledge and engineering principles and practices within his/her discipline;Employing own basic technical capabilities to solve project technical issues and tasks;Understanding the work content of the assigned activity, the necessary input data for it, the relevant interactions with other activities (predecessors, successors), as well as the design maturing phases of the design content as necessary to provide an estimate and evaluate own weekly/periodic progress;Providing technical expertise to support the Team Leader and Project Manager in communications between the Project Manager and clients/class representatives;Providing technical guidance and coordination to more junior engineers, resolving project technical issues and responding to client/class technical queries;Responsible for checking/reviewing the deliverables of other lower level engineers;B. Scope & Scope changesPerforming active clarifications with TL/PM for correct and complete understanding of scope, requirements for scope, scope assumptions and interrelations;Identifying and reporting to TL/PM any situations where the project engineering / design falls beyond the project scope assigned for clarification;Implementing only approved scope changes by TL/PM;C. Cost and schedulePerforming the assigned activities within the allocated deadline and budget.Whenever necessary, estimating project activity man-hour budgets within his/her discipline. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEBachelor’s Degree in Naval Architecture, Mechanical EngineeringAt least 6 years of uninterrupted design activity, with at least 50% of time involved in basic designProficient in core design software tools and capabilities utilized within his/her disciplineFully conversant and capable with Microsoft Word and Excel (advanced user)Good English knowledge, both written and verbal (at least a proven B2 level)Knowledgeable user of project management procedures and processesGood understanding of the requirements of ISO 9001: 2015;Capability to undertake complex project tasks and solve them independently;Great team player that is able to coordinate efficiently the activity of more junior colleagues;Ability to work under pressure and propose efficient solutions;
