Senior System Engineer in Bucuresti

THE ROLE

The Systems Infrastructure team at Temenos manages the critical underlying systems that support the global business, including authentication, email, connectivity solutions, PKI, hypervisors, storage, and a large server base hosted primarily in VMware and Microsoft Azure.
This role is responsible for designing and implementing solutions to optimize efficiency in an ever-expanding technology landscape, with a particular focus on Microsoft technologies. Strong automation and scripting skills are essential for deploying and improving processes.
The position involves a mix of project delivery — implementing new functionality and upgrading existing sub-systems — and operational responsibilities, including managing escalated level 3 tickets and ensuring stability of the systems under management.

OPPORTUNITIES
  • You will follow the change management process and ensure only approved changes are implemented.
  • You will drive automation of core systems patching to achieve zero downtime.
  • You will contribute to the implementation of projects and execute assigned project tasks.
  • You will extend the monitoring system and define automatic recovery actions.
  • You will participate in escalated ticket triages and ensure timely resolution.
  • You will develop and maintain scripts to automate repetitive tasks and prevent recurring escalations.
  • You will conduct detailed incident analysis and provide comprehensive reporting to the business.
  • You will perform root cause analysis for incidents and liaise with third-party providers such as Microsoft Premier when necessary.
  • You will draft infrastructure architecture documentation and store it in the corporate knowledge library.
  • You will create solution documents for delegation to 1st and 2nd line support, reducing unnecessary escalations.
  • You will focus on continuous improvement of infrastructure processes and performance.
  • SKILLS
  • You should have at least 3 years of hands-on experience with Windows Server 2012/2016/2019/2022/2025.
  • You should have at least 2 years of hands-on experience with VMware vSphere or another virtualization solution.
  • You should have experience managing multi-forest Active Directory environments, preferably hybrid with Entra ID.
  • You should have experience with Entra ID and associated services such as MFA and Conditional Access.
  • You should have advanced practical PowerShell knowledge and scripting expertise.
  • You should have working knowledge of CA hierarchies, certificate templates, CRLs, and interactions with public providers (., DigiCert).
  • You should have working knowledge of Microsoft Azure or another major cloud provider (., AWS).
  • You should have experience with load balancers, both virtual (Windows NLB) and hardware (Kemp).
  • You should have experience with Exchange in a hybrid setup (preferred).
  • You should have experience with Microsoft 365 services such as Teams and OneDrive (preferred).
  • You should have knowledge of DevOps practices and their application to infrastructure engineering.
  • You should have experience working with ticketing systems, preferably ManageEngine.
  • You should have a proactive approach to staying up to date with emerging technology trends.
  • You should have a degree in IT or a related field (preferred).
