Our checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by our Just Walk Out Technology.Amazon Dash Cart a new smart shopping cart that makes a quick grocery trip even quicker by allowing you to skip the checkout line.AmazonOne brings palm recognition as new mode of shopping bringing another level of ease to in-store shopper experience.The Role: Amazon Go is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager/Solution Architect to drive a new initiative to expand the reach and growth of the state of the art technology Just Walk Out Technology in the form of Just Walk Out as a Service (JWOS). If you are customer obsessed, smart and analytical, strategic yet execution focused, entrepreneurial, and passionate about building scaling solutions that facilitate business expansion – this is a role for you. Everyone on our team needs to be entrepreneurial, wear many hats and work in a highly collaborative environment that’s more startup than big company. This role involves building/scaling a suite of turnkey solutions for fast and friction-free adoption of JWOS in third-party retail stores. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on the software architecture that empowers Amazon Go store technology to expand to new horizons. Continually assess the needs of customers, tech teams and stakeholders in defining and evolving the technical strategy. Use high judgement to make critical trade-offs, balancing both business requirements and technological trade-offs.As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will drive the design and work closely with the technical team to ensure the requirements are implemented efficiently and appropriately. You'll need to work well across multiple functional areas, have strong interpersonal and written communication skills, be able to operate successfully both strategically and tactically, and have a strong bias for action.You should be comfortable with a degree of ambiguity that’s higher than most projects and relish the idea of solving problems that, frankly, haven’t been solved at scale before - anywhere. You will encounter challenging, novel situations every day and given the size of this initiative, you’ll have the opportunity to work with multiple technical teams at Amazon in different locations. We’re looking for entrepreneurs who are passionate about innovating on behalf of customers, can demonstrate a high degree of ownership, and want to have fun while they make history and craft beautiful products.This is an unique Amazon project and this is your chance to get in on the ground floor of a game-changing initiative. While you’ll be able to use existing Amazon systems when possible, you’ll be working on hard challenging problems that most likely have no off-the-shelf solutions within Amazon, and most likely haven’t been solved anywhere else in the world to the requirements we need. You should be comfortable building prototypes, challenging assumptions, thinking of creative ways to tackle problems, and leading both depth and breadth programs.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.· 4+ years of technical program management experience· Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and project planning/execution skills including estimating and scheduling.· Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with ability to work successfully across all engineering disciplines.· Maturity, judgment, and proven ability to lead and influence others.· Independently driven, resourceful, and able to deliver results with minimal direction.· Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with developers, business owners, and senior business leaders.· High sense of ownership, urgency, and drivePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS· Experience optimizing for short term execution while planning for long term technical capabilities.
