POSITION:
Senior Software Developer - Virtualization Automation
Our team within Oracle IT, part of the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure organization, will build a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) for Oracle’s internal workforce. This includes a VM request portal, automated provisioning of virtual compute instances in the Oracle Cloud, automated security and network rule setup and a remote desktop access solution.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- You’ll write code to automate building Virtual Machines and setting up the virtual network within Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure
- You’ll write code to orchestrate the VM provisioning flow and integrate with other systems
- Involvement in all areas of the VDI solution will be the challenge; being part of the project from initiation to full production operation will be the reward.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Linux and Windows Server configuration
- Strong coding skills - Unix shell, Python
- Familiarity with tools like Terraform, Chef
- Integration experience - web-services, Json, XML, Oauth, SSO
- Experience with remote desktop and virtualization technologies will be a strong plus, similarly as experience with web application servers like WebLogic, OHS and languages PL/SQL and JavaScript
Detailed Description and Job Requirements
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.
