We represent the voice of the customer as we build distinctive, always-on connected vehicle technologies and services that transform the ownership experience.Ford is adding a Senior Software Engineer to our Software Engineering and Operations team for Next-Gen Vehicle Software Configuration. The Software Engineer role will work on a Balanced Team and collaborate with a Product Owner, Product Manager, and Product Designer to deliver projects and features to support future Connected Vehicle programs. The emerging mode software developer will work in the full technology stack. The engineer will collaborate with Product Development, Mobile Application, and Vehicle Solutions.What you’ll be able to do:Define, Design, Develop, and Deploy applications/services and proof-of-concepts to support new location-based vehicle features.Ensure quality, timely delivery using Agile, test-driven development principlesCollaborate with a balanced team of developers to deliver projects/featuresSpan multiple environments (Vehicle, Cloud, and Mobile) to support end-to-end feature deliveryCollaborate with global, multi-functional stakeholdersThe minimum requirements we seek:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field4 + years of Java/ J2EE development experience in a SQL, NoSQL, Mongo, or related database environment.3 + years of Spring/ Spring Boot frameworks experience3+ years of experience with microservice architecture and REST services1+ years in an agile, paired/ mobbed programming, Test Driven Development environment with CI/CD methodologies using Jenkins or related skill.Our preferred qualifications:Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fieldGood communication/teamwork skillsExperience with Code Quality Software (SonarQube, 42 Crunch, Crucible, ESLint), Testing Methodologies (Cucumber, Gherkin, Junit, JMeter) , Build Automation Tools (Gradle, Maven) and Code Repository (Git, Bit Bucket, SVN)Experience with Cloud environments (GCP/GKE/Azure, AWS, PCF)Pivotal Cloud Foundry certification and/or experienceDevelopment experience in multiple programming environments (Mobile, Vehicle, and Cloud)Understanding of in-vehicle architecturesExperience with authentication such as OAuth2, Azure or PCF, PCF toolsWhat you’ll receive in return:As part of the Ford family, you’ll enjoy excellent compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that includes generous PTO, retirement, savings and stock investment plans, incentive compensation and much more.
