The long term service agreement for the maintenance of the rolling stock of Metrorex is a major reference and shows the expertise of Alstom in this field. Alstom will continue to grow his business in Romania proposing further services for the local market and export, creating regional hub in Services and Signaling.
We operate in the domain of Design and construction of safety critical transportation systems.
Very accurate verification (have we done the design correctly versus the internal process?), Validation (have we done a design meeting the customer requirements?) and integration ( is the system operating properly considering the nominal and possible degraded situations?) are mandatory as per the related Standards applicable.

Overview :
The Interlocking Application Design Engineer position, reporting direct to Interlocking (IXL) Teamleader will as a responsibility have:
Delivers software modules by ensuring detailed design and implementation of these modules.
Specific responsibilities of the role :
- Contributes to the elaboration of (IXL) interlocking specification & architecture, in collaboration with the IXL architect.
- Realizes development of (SW) Software of IXL modules .

Realizes the SW of IXL modules detailed design & coding.

Sets up the IXL development tool chain.

Prepares and performs SW of IXL module tests and verifications of his deliverables (“Designer” tests), prior to the ones formally realized by a dedicated V&V team (depending on Safety Integrity Level and associated Product development organization).

Puts the IXL workproduct under configuration management according to product Configuration Management Plan.

Supports the SW of IXL /HW and HW/ SW of IXL integration, together with the HW designer.
- Realizes sustaining of the IXL.
- Keeps informed of the evolution of technologies through techno watch.
- Through his activities, contributes to TIS standardization by reusing existing solutions or by implementing reusable solutions.
- Keeps a strong link with the IXL architect, HW designer, RAMS and V&V departments, through the whole IXL design cycle.
- Applies processes and standards.
- Contributes to continuous improvement (ROE, process, …).
Qualifications & Experience
- Upper technical education (Faculty of Transportation, Faculty of Engineering in Foreign Languages, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Electronical, Telecommunication and Information Technology, Faculty of Automation, Faculty of Aeronautical Engineering)
- Experience in Transport or other safety critical industrial fields represents and advantage
- English Language: Medium/Advanced Level
- French Language: Medium/Advanced Level
- Knowledge of Word, Excel, Power point.
