Overview
Purpose
The purpose of the Domain PMO Lead role is to facilitate the development and ongoing management of an optimized portfolio, ensuring senior management decisions lead to the fulfilment of strategic objectives through the delivery of programmes and projects.
Responsibilities
Functional Strategy
- Define and manage the implementation of the domain PMO target-operating model, to secure a competitive position of the PMO in DB, carry on its operations and achieve the desired business outcomes. This is achieved by adherence to the following principles:

- Provide a centre of expertise and develop consistent standards and procedures, including templates, and guidance in their tailoring across a range of programme or project sizes, to include, but not limited to:
- Planning and Dependency Management
- Investment Governance
- Resource Management

- Risk and Issue Management
- Change Control
- Information/configuration management
- Quality assurance
- Methods and tools
- Define guidelines, procedures and templates to collect and maintain consistent data and provide hands-on delivery support to a programme or project
Portfolio Set-up and Approval
- Collect and consolidate all new and carry-forward projects that build up the book of work for the upcoming year
- Provide scrutiny of projects related information, to allow project classification, prioritization and planning for domain management
- Prepare supporting documentation for decision-making (presentation material and reports)
Portfolio execution monitoring
- Analyse the portfolio and make recommendations on the programme/project mix to the decision makers
- Facilitate governance/portfolio meetings
- Ensure programmes and projects progress is continuously and responsibly monitored against all relevant metrics - management dashboard (financial, resourcing, milestones, RAID, a.o.).
- Develop and maintain the portfolio delivery plan
- Develop and maintain a portfolio resource schedule, mapping available resources against programmes and projects
- Develop and maintain the portfolio risk register
- Develop and maintain a portfolio dependencies register
- Develop and maintain KPIs for the portfolio
- Provide decision and governance support on demand
People management and relationships
- Determine and track progress against individual professional objectives with each team member
- Develop a career path (incl. promotion) for all team members
- Encourage an open dialogue with all team members to ensure feedback is captured and actioned 2-ways
- Provide on-demand support to team members
- Develop stand-in
Stakeholder management
- Develop portfolio stakeholder strategy and ensure communications are timely and effective
Organisation and culture
- Active engagement in DB global PPM and PMO forums or any other international forums with impact in the PMO expertise area.
