The Opportunity
The Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join as a Site Reliability Engineer who knows how to balance going fast and going big with operating safely. Adobe Experience Manager is the top tier solution for digital marketing omni-channel content management systems driving a billion-dollar revenue.
As a key member of a small and adaptable team, you have an intimate understanding of the operational challenges of running services at scale, and you are committed to overcoming those challenges with software instead of manpower. What you'll Do

Work independently and own multiple features of the product

Transform requirements into architectural and feature specs

Get involved in designing, building and maintaining the system

Automate all parts of the system, from deploying to self-healing mechanisms

Maintain and improve existing monitoring and alerting system

Identify and drive opportunities to improve automation (deployment, management and visibility of our services).

Seek issues across the stack focusing on permanent fixes and automation instead of point-fixes

Participate in a follow-the-sun on-call schedule

Build and maintain the required infrastructure to support the product in the cloud (AWS, Azure)

Integrate AEM with system automation and various cloud platforms

Perform research on various technologies useful for or required by the project
You will work in a medium-large sized team and will report directly to the Engineering Manager.

What you need to succeed
For this job we are searching for people with the skills and knowledge listed below. However, if you are an excellent engineer with deep understanding of the software development process and you are confident you can quickly pick up any of them, we would love to hear from you.

Education in Engineering, Computer Science or other technical related field
-
Experience in one of the following programming languages including but not limited to: C, C++, Java, Go, Scala, or Python.

Experience with algorithms and data structures and/or Unix/Linux systems internals (e.g., filesystems, system calls) and administration
-
Hands on technical leadership experience leading technical projects and setting technical direction.
-
Interest in designing, analysing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
-
Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
-
Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive.

Experience with Database, Distributed Systems, AWS or Azure Cloud Technologies, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Experience architecting and developing distributed systems

Proficient in English (both written and spoken
