The Surface development team is seeking talented senior developers with a background in shipping consumer devices or software products. Experience with software automation and unit tests is a must.
Responsibilities
Job responsibilities will encompass working across a team of high-impact individuals who are designing and coding software automation, tools, UI frameworks, Android Framework and Android applications on Surface Duo devices. The job is highly dynamic and involves working across various disciplines to successfully deliver the product with the Surface Duo experience and quality.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in software and/or product development
- Excellent design and coding skills with languages like C#/Python/Java/bash
- Proven experience shipping consumer devices or software platforms (Windows, Android, Linux)
- Experience designing and implementing complex software or automation on devices.
- Experience with CICD processes, test automation, cloud builds, docker containers, or related.
- BS in Engineering or equivalent experience
Additional Qualifications:
- Familiarity Azure pipelines and YAML
- Familiarity with devices and a general understanding of one or more of the following sub-systems: filesystems/uefi/audio/graphics/display/camera/video/sensors/telephony.
- Ability to quickly ramp-up on complex and unfamiliar code
- Experience debugging Android software
- Enthusiastic, motivated and self-driven
- High tolerance to ambiguity and ability make progress in the face of it
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple disciplines and functions (PM, Test, Hardware Engineers, etc.)
