Covetrus is headquartered in Portland, Maine, with more than 5,000 employees, serving over 100,000 customers around the globe.Our location in Dumfries is seeking additional staffing our IT department For that department we are seeking a, Senior Infrastructure Engineer - IT Shared Services Europe.We are looking for a knowledgeable, talented, and industrious infrastructure engineer who will work alongside the European IT support team in a hybrid environment to ensure the reliable operations of all infrastructure while maintaining system integrity. This role would include Internal network support (voice and data), Vmware/Veeam proficiency, Azure/O365 exposure and a good basic understanding of network and computing fundementals.Responsibilities:Shared ownership of IT infrastructure systems, services and networks as part of a European wide shared service environment.The ongoing management, support and administration of all such systems and services including controlled patching, security, backups and disaster recovery.To actively particpate in European projects, helping define and support new standards across the organization.Acting as 3rd line support to the European support teams.Ensure all systems and regular processes are appropriately documented and comply fully with audit standards.Coordination between infrastructure and the local business teams.To manage infrastructure projects as required.Maintain networking environment by designing system configuration; directing system installation; defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.Maximizes network and system performance by monitoring; troubleshooting network and system problems and outages; scheduling upgrades.Required Experience:Exceptional problem solving abilitiesHigh business acumen and a high level of common senseAbility to grasp emerging technologies, a willingness to learn and knowledge share with the team.Good interpersonal skills and the ability to recognise and understand business needsHighly organized, confident and self motivated with the ability to work within a team or individually to tight deadlinesPrevious experience in IT, security or systems support, or network administrator positions preferred.A genuine “get it done” attitude with the ability to prioritise as appropriateWillingness to take a flexible approach to some out of hours work to support business needs.A full UK driving license and valid passport would be prefered.Preferred Skills:Network certifications, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)CompTIA Network+.Azure fundamentals/administrationMicrosoft 365 administrationFamiliarity with various network types including LANs, WANs, WLANs, SANs, and VoIP networks.Specialised Knowledge and Skills:Extensive and varied IT related knowledge including specifically LAN/WAN networks (Cisco / TCPIP), Windows and Linux operating systems, server hardware, desktop PC’s, telephony.Ability to troubleshoot from the physical layer up to the application layer.Virtualization Technologies (Primarily VMware but some exposure to Xen/Hyper-V)HP and/or Dell server hardwareDell & Lenovo PC hardwareWAN/LAN/Wireless networking in a combined Cisco & Meraki environmentFirewall experience (especially Palo Alto/Juniper/Fortigate)Telephony (especially 3CX) experience (both cloud and on-premise).Linux (primarily Debian based)Windows Server/Win10/Win11 and Active Directory/Group Policies/PowerShellSSO with MFAAt Covetrus, we believe that your well-being and success matter.
