Principal Software Engineer (Remote) in Braşov

This is a lead technical role for the MarketSight team at Dynata. The successful candidate will be deeply involved in designing and delivering features and functionality to support current MarketSight clients as well as the Dynata Insights Platform reporting requirements. Participate as part of the MarketSight technical leadership team, responsible for driving towards a modern service-oriented architecture in a cloud environment. This is a Player-Coach role. Responsibilities Oversee the design and implementation of software components for the MarketSight application and the Dynata Insights Platform. Lead a team of software engineers to implement software requirements, product features, and bug fixes. Guide application development towards modern design patterns and frameworks. Support AWS hosting deployments of MarketSight across several regions. Develop and direct security procedures and safeguards to reduce the risk of outside breaches and protect sensitive information. Work to understand the vision of the company and express that vision in products and technology to meet the needs of the company, its partners and its clients. Provide leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship. Work with engineering and product leadership to define the direction and future of the application and business. Participate in and run SDLC ceremonies and coach development teams on agile practices and procedures. Participate in defining the evolving SDLC and release process. Participate in interviewing future teammates and building high performance teams. Skills and Attributes Expert level proficiency in C# .Net/JavaScript/TypeScript application development. Proficiency with Relational Database design, SQL and ORM (NHibernate) technologies. Strong architectural skills with experience in public cloud environments and web-services. Experience with AWS. Industry experience in Data Analytics or Market Research. Excellent written and oral communication skills. The team is international with primary communication in English. Experience with Python. Familiarity with GoLang. Familiarity NoSql, OLAP, and other database technologies. Scrum / SDLC experience and competencies. Comprehensive understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented application development. Understanding of CI/CD and TDD best practices. Demonstrated critical and analytical thinking. Strong collaborative leadership with great interpersonal skills. Ability to work with remote and distributed teams. Team building and mentoring experience. Quality assurance and DevOps experience. Education and Experience 10+ years of experience in software design and development. With an additional 5+ years of experience leading technical teams. College or University degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline. Leading agile teams using Scrum / Agile methodologies. Experience designing, and leading development of enterprise grade software written in one of: C#, Java, C++, or C. (C# strongly preferred) Experience deploying and maintaining enterprise SaaS software in managed and cloud-based hosting environments.
