Transition Manager in Oradea

The Transition Manager role is to lead the Plexus Transition System in the development and execution of Transition Programs and Projects across Plexus Regions and Plexus Market Sectors globally. Transition Management lead the Transition Program of Work & associated Projects by working with internal & external stakeholders including Plexus Program Management & CFT (Customer Focus Team) in addition to other SME’s (Subject Matter Experts) inside & outside Plexus. The Transition Manager is responsible for working with the Site Program Manager, CFT and other SME’s as required to successfully transition new products into Plexus manufacturing. A transition request can come from: New Customers; Existing Customers; PLXS-ENG and may include the introduction of new product designs from PLXS-ENG or Customer Design Teams, transfer of existing products from customer sites (including site closures), EMS competitors and between PLXS-MFG sites. Responsible for transitioning an existing customer’s new product program which is deemed too large for the Plexus customer team to manage. Key Job Accountabilities: Stakeholder Management: Collaborates & communicates with stakeholders to support: Business development solutions & customer accounts. Leads transition programs through change management methods, transition tools & processes. Trains Plexus staff in transition management tools & processes. Manage customer stakeholders’ expectations when they are unrealistic. Team & Project leadership: Works within the Plexus organization to design transition program teams: Design the project team in collaboration with the customer BDD/CD/CM & the target Site GM. Lead wider teams when managing International Programs that are deployed simultaneously across regions. Escalates resource constraints to mitigate customer & project risks. Project Management Flawless Execution: Define Project KSF’s – Key Success factors & KPI’s – Key Performance Indicators for the project with internal & external stakeholders – mutually agree project goals & set the baseline. Through the Transition Project Team delivers flawless execution including application of Project Plans; A3 Management Reports, OIL, other tools as required by the program such as customer preferred alternatives. Project Scope Management – through managing the Project Charter maintain version Control and evidence of scope changes that will support schedule, cost & quality impacts. Ensure PPQP 2.0 & where applicable FVS Phase Review tools deployment. Problem Solving: Solve Problems – apply scientific thinking to problem solving. Derive solutions through data driven means as per Plexus & Industry Problem Solving best practice. Flawlessly Execute Transition Programs considering the framework of SOP65 tools & processes, PSOE 2.0 and the three key pillars of: People Engagement, Zero Defect Quality and Lean Manufacturing. Continuous Improvement: Conclude Transition Programs through a Case Study Approach to document a full lessons learned audit trail to support continuous improvement & future business development. Additional Accountabilities: Report all Transition Programs in the Transition SharePoint to support Global Transition reporting. Flexible working is required which often requires evening or early morning conference calls. Travel is required typically up to 25%. Additional activities as required by Plexus in line with Transition skills. Capture and support recovery of Transition Start-Up Costs. Provide timely status reports and project updates to Global Operations Management teams typically through application of the Transition Management A3 Process. Support quotation preparation, capture Transformation Costs & support ‘Actual to Quote’ gap closure. Acknowledges and complies with the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards provided in the procedures and instructions that are specific to each field, documentation that underlies the proper functioning of the integrated management system of quality, environment, safety and occupational health. Additional duties as assigned. Education & Professional Training: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferred) PMI Membership with PMP Certification preferred (or equivalent project management training) CLSSGB – Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (preferred) Plexus Problem Solving Training (preferred) Other Qualifications: High computer skills and literacy Excellent organizational, verbal and written communications skills Employee must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Computer, presentation and mentoring skills are necessary to be successful in this position. A general knowledge of manufacturing, materials, business, finance and program management is required; related contract manufacturing experience is preferred. General office equipment and materials. Industry Experience: 5 years Industry experience in an EMS or Product company: business, operations, project management, technical or supply chain role is required for the Transition Manager level role. Work Environment: The work setting should consist of an office environment with suitable lighting, comfortable temperatures, and a low noise level. Remote working may be required.
