Radiation Protection and Industrial Safety Manager, Refurbishment in Cernavodã

General Accountabilities Implementation of the radioprotection program and carrying out the activities in compliance with the ALARA principle for the refurbishment project Defining the management program of radioactive waste resulting from refurbishment activities Defining the specific training and qualification requirements in the field of radioprotection for the personnel involved in the refurbishment activities Interface with Cernavoda NPP and contractor(s) regarding the preparatory activities and those during the long-term shutdown for refurbishment from the point of view of radioprotection and work safety Evaluation from the point of view of radioprotection and work safety of the preparatory activities and those during the long-term shutdown for refurbishment implementation of the Cernavoda NPP occupational safety program in the Project activities analyze the labor safety conventions for the service contracts identification of work safety requirements and specific training requirements on fire protection aspects ensuring the interface on labor safety and fire protection aspects with the external partner organizations ensuring the control, monitoring and maintenance of conduct and discipline at work, as well as compliance with all legal regulations applicable in the line of work safety and fire protection for the activities for the purpose of the refurbishment project Selection Criteria A Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering or Science is preferred Direct involvement in a CANDU Refurbishment Project/Organization within the past 3 years will be an advantage Comprehensive understanding of CANDU technology and operations Demonstrated capability to manage and lead Demonstrated expertise in radiation protection and safe operating practices as relevant to refurbishment activities Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain excellent client relationships Excellent problem-solving skills and experience in leading technical projects to successful conclusions Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and have demonstrated a high commitment to quality High sense of personal accountability Romanian Language proficiency would be beneficial, but is not a requirement This role requires full-time relocation to Cernavoda, Romania for an extended duration.
