The Opportunity The Adobe Commerce Digital Experience is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the team. We are seeking an experienced web application framework engineer able to design and implement sophisticated features of the Adobe Commerce platform in collaboration with multiple teams and the open-source community.We’re extending the Adobe Commerce product offering through SaaS design principles, moving more and more of the storefront into the cloud, facilitating effortless upgrades on the merchant’s side, and enhance our ML capabilities to deliver quality insights to both the merchant and the shopper.We work in smaller product engineering teams. This allows us to be agile while working as part of a larger organization. Though we are established, in production, and iterating, there are plenty of challenges to overcome, decisions to be made, and new development to do.What you'll Do Define, design, implement and deliver high-quality features for Adobe Commerce Platform and various related projects.Choose the best approaches of implementation by following software design patterns and coding standard methodologiesEnsure high quality by performing code reviews and providing static, integration and functional automated tests.Take ownership and help improve the availability, performance, scalability, and security of the product. You’ll also ensure a strong emphasis on software backwards compatibility and cost of ownership.Constantly keep the application tech stack up to date and contribute to open-source dependencies of our projects.Work on the toolset and solutions to improve the internal and external developer experience.Keep high levels of Security and Compliance with the Adobe Standards.Work in a Lean-Agile environment.What you need to succeed 5 years of software engineering experience.Excellent communication skills.Excellent Magento 2 technical knowledgeExcellent Git and GitHub features knowledgeExperience with PHP and JavaScript frameworks and libraries (Symfony, Laravel, Laminas, Node, JQuery, Knockout, React, Requirejs, etc.)Good understanding of extensible and backwards-compatible development principlesGood knowledge of application architecture and software design patternsExperience with DevOps practices and the Cloud tech stack (AWS preferred)Experience covering the code and functionality with static, unit, integration, API and functional tests As a plusExperience contributing to open-source projectsExperience with headless and serverless application models, distributed systems architectureAt Adobe, you will be immersed in an exceptional work environment that is recognized throughout the world on Best Companies lists.
