An automation-first mentality is the first step for a significant transformation for any organization, starting from simple task automation, moving to complex workflow orchestration and finally provide end-user services via “push-button” features. You will have the opportunity to be part of this transformation by driving and implementing our strategy.You will work hand in hand with Platform Services Tribe management team, product owners and architects to develop strategies and to define principles for Oracle services. The role calls for strategy and direction of the Infrastructure roadmap for ING Oracle Engineering domain and input into overall Tech strategy.You hierarchically oversee a chapter of 6 - 8 engineers, including ‘people management’. This covers the recruiting of new talents, administration, personal development, and evaluation of your Chapter members. You inspire and encourage your Chapter members to develop themselves, providing them coaching on both the professional as well as the personal level. This could be part of your personal development as well,  if you are not already fully familiar with it in your professional career.Your day-to-dayAs Chapter Lead of an Oracle Engineering team, your role is twofold. You will have both a managerial role, being responsible for:Taking the personal development & growth of your chapter members at heart, by coaching them and setting the objectives together with the IT Area Lead and Product OwnersRemoving any impediments that obstruct a team pursuit of its goals and facilitate the productivity of the teamHelping the team to improve performance by learning from their mistakesCollaborating with the other Chapter Leads, Product Owners and Delivery Managers to improve the maturity of processes and practices and to facilitate knowledge sharing across teams.Making proposals for standardization and automation of squads’ activities and processes (e.g., Automation Platform and Azure DevOps Deployment Pipeline, Observability, Oracle Platform technological roadmap, Risk activities) with the scope of increasing the overall efficiency of the teamDefining the standardization roadmap for the offering services & platforms in relation to DevOps processes & tools and by adhering to ING Security and Risk standardsBring your Infrastructure as Code experience and mindset and act as a technology evangelistProvide services for all IT DevOps delivery squads and keep close collaboration with other IT functionsUnderstanding the implications of Business Continuity Plan, implementation of Disaster Recovery solution and acts accordinglyUnderstanding all implications of maintaining a 24x7 business-critical infrastructureWhat you bring to the teamExperience establishing and driving the strategic vision of business-critical Oracle environments.Previous people management experience, including 2-3 years of people leadership within a fast paced, highly available 24/7 & critical system environment.Expertise in building & supporting Oracle on-premise and Cloud environmentsExperience using monitoring and logging platforms (Ex. Oracle Enterprise Manager, Zabbix, Prometheus)Hands-on experience in operations of a large-scale enterpriseEnglish language proficiency is a mustGood communication and team working skillsKnowledge sharing abilities.Oracle database technologies (Oracle RAC, Data Guard, Multitenant, RMAN, Data Pump, Installation/Patching/Upgrade, Security, Audit, Enterprise Manager)Architecture and design of enterprise scale Oracle based solutions, with a focus on High Availability, Disaster Recovery and SecurityOracle database performance and tuning / SQL tuningCloud technologies – Oracle DBaaSOperating systems: *NIX (RHEL)Storage systemsNetwork conceptsCI/CD: Azure DevOpsMonitoring and observability solutions: Grafana, Zabbix, Prometheus
