The job:

The Copy Editor will work within the OSPA System Administration team and will be responsible for the copy editing of all text that will be read by OSPA’s global sales audience. This includes all learning content, notifications, reminders, learner-facing communications, and website text, as well as miscellaneous other text that may be event specific. This position is ideal for independent, fast-working individuals with a keen eye for detail, relevant copy editing experience, and excellent communication skills.

You will:

  • Test the newly developed OSPA eLearning content and make sure all standards have been applied
  • Proofread eLearning and all other content data and communicate clearly with content creators about proposed vs. required changes.
  • Review content for grammatical errors and work with OSPA’s content development team to ensure content creation standards are being followed.
  • Execute functional tests for all content to ensure proper functionality and tracking.
  • Write QA documentation – test cases, checklists, job aids etc.
  • Develop and maintain OSPA copy guidelines and style guides.

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent English knowledge, both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of QA methodologies.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience copy editing, testing eLearning content or Software Quality Assurance.
  • Experience with bug tracking systems.
  • Strong team skills and experience working with a wide variety of authors from very experienced to very junior.
  • Deep communication skills- you are comfortable approaching content creators and team members to discuss concerns and possible changes in ways that are collaborative and encouraging.
  • Experience building a copy editing function from scratch in a start-up type of atmosphere.

  • Highly collaborative and willing to play various team roles as needed in order to deliver quality content.
  • Good team player and with a will to work with both experienced and junior content creators.
  • Good with text – you can easily spot grammatical errors or determine if a text is readable for the learner.

  • ISTQB foundation level certification
  • HTML knowledge
  • SQL knowledge
  • Adobe Captivate knowledge
  • Experience working with LMS systems and SCORMs

 

 

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

 

 

Provides programs to improve operational efficiency, consistency, and compliance in support of the organization*s financial and tactical business objectives. Provides business practices and processes. Develops, communicates, and trains the organization on business practices and processes.

Serve as a liaison with other divisions such as Finance, Contracts, HR, Legal, Shared Services, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, and Risk Management in an effort to ensure accurate and timely transaction processing. Collect, input, verify, correct, and analyze data to measure key performance indicator actual versus business objectives. Provide updates to management regarding budget to actual, informing them of deviations and opportunities. Provide management with economic impact and compliance issues surrounding key business decisions and/or deals. Communicate Oracle Business Practices to the organization and monitor process and approvals for full compliance. Drive implementation of new processes and procedures.

Duties and tasks are standard with some variation. Completes own role largely independently within defined policies and procedures. Attention to detail critical. Ability to collect, organize, and display data in spreadsheet format. Follow-through skills necessary to get information from internal and third parties and have data errors/omissions corrected. Relationship management skills strongly desired. Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with management and possible clients desired. 2 plus years relevant work experience.
