Role Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Data Center Architect – Technical Writer to support the design, modernization, and governance of our Data Center Infrastructure.
In this hybrid role, you will contribute both as a Data Center Architecture specialist—defining lifecycle processes, implementing governance models, and supporting global adoption—and as a Technical Writer, ensuring clear, consistent, and high-quality documentation across the team.
This position is part of SAPs Data Center Architecture and Infrastructure Management team and requires strong technical expertise, process-driven thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate within a globally distributed environment.
Key Responsibilities
Data Center Architecture & Lifecycle Management

Develop and implement lifecycle processes for data center infrastructure components—including cabling—within SAPs Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platform and other enterprise tools.

Define end-to-end lifecycle processes for cabling and other data center infrastructure components.

Establish and implement governance models to ensure consistent process execution and compliance.

Collaborate with global teams to support adoption of new processes, tools, and standards.

Create and deliver training materials and conduct workshops for regional operations teams.

Monitor compliance with lifecycle processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Technical Writing & Documentation

Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for lifecycle processes, cabling standards, operational procedures, and infrastructure guidelines.

Develop user manuals, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and process flow diagrams.

Ensure documentation adheres to SAP documentation standards and industry best practices.

Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex technical concepts into clear, structured, and user-friendly content.

Maintain version control and ensure documentation is updated as processes evolve or tools change.
Required Expertise & Experience

Strong, demonstrable technical writing skills with experience creating clear and structured documentation.

Proven track record as a Data Center Architect or similar role, with a focus on Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM).

Experience with requirements gathering, process design, and process implementation in technical environments.

Understanding of project management practices and ITIL frameworks.

Proven ability to work collaboratively in globally distributed, multicultural teams.
