Deskside Technician
Job Description The Deskside Technician is expected to develop competence by performing structured work assignments and use existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems.
This role involves troubleshooting, problem-solving, and working with various technologies to ensure optimal system performance, building collaborative working relationships internally and externally. Attendance and schedule adherence are the requirements of this position. When the onsite presence is not needed, the Deskside Technician can work from home.
The position is also designed to provide a Backfill Service for the OSS team.
Job responsibilities Providing Backfill Service for the Onsite TeamProvide technical support in a hybrid operating support system environmentTroubleshoot and resolve issues related to the OSS systemCollaborate with team members to improve system performancePerform routine system checks and updatesProviding hardware/software support services to onsite clients including break/fix.Diagnosing end-user system failures and implementing repair solutions.Diagnosing printer and other peripheral device failures and implementing repair solutions.Troubleshooting network devices to ensure connectivity from the PC to the Network.Providing installation and upgrading services of hardware and software.Setup and troubleshooting audio/video equipment such as projectors and video conference equipmentParticipate in project coordinationAsset Database maintenance/updateCoordinating PC Lifecycle Job Requirements Qualifications & Job Skills:
Previous experience in a similar position: 1-4 years Knowledge of multiple manufacturers and operating systems.General End User technology knowledgeEnd User Workspace platforms (discovery, asset management, client management)End User Microsoft platforms (Active Directory, Office, SCCM)High school diploma or equivalent required. Excellent troubleshooting capability.Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.Ability to communicate technical information - technical audiences.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Romanian languages.Ability to complete assignments with no supervision.Ability to search internally/externally for support information.Customer-oriented attitude.Ability to travel locally and in-state to support other sites, if applicable.ITIL Foundations experience a plusMay develop advanced skills using tools and equipment appropriate for the position or specialization.Using established procedures and working under immediate supervision, performs assigned tasks.Resolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levels.What's next:The preceding job description had been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
