Job Description The Dry Utilities BIM Specialist is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining Building Information Models (BIM) for dry utilities projects. This role involves close collaboration with project teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and efficient integration of dry utility systems into the BIM environment. The specialist will ensure that all models meet industry standards and project requirements, providing technical support and ensuring best practices in BIM. Key Responsibilities: 1. Modeling and Coordination: Develop and maintain BIM models for dry utilities (electricity, telecommunications, gas, etc.). Coordinate with architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders to integrate dry utility systems into overall project models. Ensure models are up-to-date and accurately reflect design changes and project requirements. 2. Standards and Quality Control: Ensure all BIM models comply with industry standards, company guidelines, and project specifications. Perform quality checks and audits on models to maintain accuracy and completeness. Implement and enforce BIM standards and best practices across projects. 3. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other BIM specialists to ensure seamless integration of dry utilities. Facilitate coordination meetings to resolve any clashes or design issues within the models. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates and address any concerns or questions. 4. Technical Support and Training: Provide technical support to project teams regarding BIM tools and processes. Conduct training sessions for team members on BIM software and standards. Stay updated on the latest BIM technologies and industry trends to continuously improve processes and tools. 5. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain thorough documentation of all BIM-related activities and processes. Generate and present reports on model progress, issues, and resolutions. Assist in the preparation of BIM execution plans and project-specific BIM requirements. Mandatory qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in BIM modeling, preferably with a focus on dry utilities. Nice to have: • Technical Skills: Proficient in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other relevant tools. Strong understanding of dry utility systems and their integration into construction projects. Knowledge of BIM standards and protocols (e.g., ISO 19650, PAS 1192). • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective time management and organizational skills.
