About the role: As an Engineering Director, become a part of a cross-functional development team working for our Client. Responsibilities: Provide visionary leadership, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the engineering team Define and communicate a technical strategy aligned with the product goals Lead the end-to-end development process, ensuring adherence to project timelines, quality standards, and budget constraints Leverage expertise in Bluesky or other open-source frameworks to streamline development, optimize performance, and ensure a unified codebase Take responsibility for team development – recruit, mentor, and manage a high-performing engineering team Collaborate with executive leadership to contribute to the strategic planning and roadmap for the social media platform Evaluate and recommend technology solutions to enhance platform capabilities Implement and ensure adherence to best engineering practices for code quality, testing, and deployment processes, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall development efficiency Work closely with the Delivery Director and Product Director, providing technical guidance and recommending approaches to achieve desired client outcomes Collaborate with technical experts from external organizations that the product needs to integrate with. Shape how the product can be integrated and scaled, defining the approach to product scaling Requirements: Proven track record in leading the development of large-scale digital platforms, preferably within the social media domain and global reach, from ideation to launch and ongoing enhancements Hands-on experience with Bluesky, Mastodon, or similar code frameworks Strong strategic thinking with the ability to align technical initiatives with business objectives Excellent communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders What's in it for you?
