Job description: Design, develop, and deploy one of Hippo’s producers and platform capabilities. Lead a team of 3-10 engineers with 2-3 main topics of focus. Drive technical review of design documents, code review, prioritization of development roadmap, and fixes. Work with, and influence, cross-functional stakeholders within Hippo, e.g. Product, Design, QA, and Finance. Mentor and lead other engineers, develop them for higher impact and teamwork. With a data-driven approach, show technical leadership, focusing on excellent execution and high-quality software delivery. Work with teams in our global locations across the US and Poland. Job requirements: Relevant work experience in software development. Experience in people management.  Knowledge of communicating clearly, handling escalations, and keeping things moving forward. Relentless focus on end-users and creating customer-centric solutions. Proven ability to build a team, develop people, and influence cross-functional teams and senior management. Adaptability to increase the scope of work / switch around to other areas of impact at a fast-moving scale-up. High level of technical proficiency with some of Hippo’s tech stack (Javascript /  Node.js , React, Python) High level of proficiency in algorithms, data structures, and systems design.
