As an HPC Engineer at Honeywell, you will design, deploy, and maintain high-performance computing environments that power advanced data processing and computational workloads. This role is critical in ensuring our infrastructure delivers maximum performance, scalability, and reliability to support innovation across engineering and research teams. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders, you will optimize HPC systems and enable faster, more efficient data analysis that drives operational excellence and business impact.
You will report directly to our IT Infrastructure Manager and you’ll work out of our Bucharest, RO location on a Hybrid work schedule (3 + 2).
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage HPC clusters and supporting infrastructureDeploy, maintain, and provide ongoing support for high-performance computing environmentsOptimize system performance, scalability, and reliability through configuration tuning and monitoringCollaborate with engineering and research teams to understand computational needs and provide technical solutionsManage job scheduling systems (., Slurm, PBS) and cluster toolsEnsure efficient storage and networking performance within HPC environmentsTroubleshoot system issues and ensure high availability of servicesRequirements
3+ years of experience working with HPC systems, cluster management, and parallel computing environmentsBachelor’s degree in a technical field (., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or similar)Strong knowledge of HPC architecture and job schedulers (., Slurm, PBS)Hands-on experience with Linux/Unix systems and strong Linux administration skillsExperience with scripting (Python, Bash) and performance tuningExperience managing storage in HPC environmentsSolid understanding of networking and storage technologies relevant to HPCNice-to-Have Skills
